Jess & Jay's Intimate Fall Wedding in L'Auberge Saint-Gabriel, Montreal

Last fall, Dakota and I photographed Jess and Jay's wedding in Montreal, Canada. They got married in L'Auberge Saint-Gabriel on their anniversary (the day that Jay asked Jess to be his girlfriend). Despite having written their vows separately, they were almost identical in thought, ending with ALMOST the same sentence: " I will love you forever and a day." (Jay said "two days"), which was the translation to the french inscription on Jess' locket that her great grandmother passed on to her. The weekend was filled with laughter, tears, and storytelling about the beginnings of their relationship and how their loved ones witnessed its unfolding. Being part of such a close gathering of family and friends was a tug-at-your-heart-strings kind of experience for us. We cannot be happier for these two as they begin their new adventure!

“Je te’aimerai toujours plus un jour”
(I will love you forever and a day)
“...Forever and TWO days!”

The speeches were hilarious too. A favorite highlight was the Maid of Honor rapping her speech.

Instead of wedding cake, they served Crème brûlée, which they cracked instead of cut, after clinking spoons (as they do before every meal).
