Sam & Dane's Wedding, Liberty State Park, NJ
Sam & Dane were our neighbors in Montclair and our friendship grew over games of Settlers of Catan, drinks at Egan and Sons, and weekend brunch. They are one of the kindest and sweetest couples we've ever known and it was an honor to photograph their wedding!
The day started quite early, with a 5am call-time and a hurricane brewing. It was unexpectedly cold, windy, and the city skyline was almost completely obscured by fog. Dakota and I were preparing to fight to keep everyone's stress at bay but we were pleasantly surprised at how relaxed and upbeat Sam and Dane were (even at 5am). The hurricane persisted for most of the day but that didn't stop us from taking advantage of the little skyline that was peeking through the clouds from time to time.
The first look set the tone of their wedding day. These two were so over-filled with joy when they first saw each other, forgetting everything else around them. It didn't matter if things weren't unfolding the way they first imagined it to, because they had each other. Their wedding was so beautiful and intimate. We absolutely loved all the personal touches they had--succulents in vintage cloches and milk glass, a photo of Sam's parents tucked in her bouquet, and all the heartfelt speeches by parents and friends. Surrounded by everyone they loved, a little rain couldn't dampen their spirits. We couldn't be happier for them!
